Message from President Raines

I'm delighted to welcome you to the University of Memphis, one of the nation's best metropolitan research universities and a great place to learn and work. Our mission is evidenced in our commitments to affordable access, rigorous academic programs, and the timely success of our students. We are dedicated to responsible stewardship of public resources; serving as a leader in sustainability and community engagement, and generating new knowledge and practical solutions to real-world problems.

Spring 2009 brings new opportunities for our university. We look forward to new students joining us at the university and welcome our current students back to campus. Students and visitors alike will notice physical changes, like those happening at the building site of our new University Center and administrative changes like those in the College of Education where we welcome Dr. Donald Wagner, our new Dean of the College of Education.
